A family portrait is most meaningful when I can create an image that really shows who your family is. What does your family love to do? Where do you go? What interests or causes are you most involved in? What would tell the best story about your family?

First, schedule a pre-session phone consultation to discuss ideas with me. We'll talk about working at my studio, or we can create images at your home or another place that you love, like a park that has special meaning to your family, the river, a lake, downtown, or the family cabin. When it comes to locations, think out of the box...such as favorite vacation spots or wherever you love to be the most (yes I do international travel :o). I'll help you get away from the hustle and bustle rush of this day and age, and have an experience that is fun, creative, energizing, and refreshing.

After I've created your images, I schedule an order session with you in our viewing room - normally within a week of the session. These sessions usually last 1 1/2 hours, so I recommend that you arrange a sitter for small children. Since I create more variety than most studios, I don't use old fashioned paper proofs. You'll see your images on a 50 inch plasma, where I can help you sort through and decide your favorites with the most creativity and flexibility. I'll crop, rotate, change to B&W, or show you the exact size any image will look like from a wallet to a wall portrait. I can even show you what your image looks like on your own wall at home. After the order session, I load your images into a private, on-line gallery so you can show your friends and family your favorites. Of course, I always have chocolate, snacks, and drinks available during these sessions.

Collection Albums are a signature of mine. Families are perfect subjects for this type of storytelling. These albums collect all of your favorite images from the entire session into one awesome, custom, graphically designed album!

Artpieces are another family favorite. These are wall portraits where I creatively combine 3-7 images into one amazing work of art.

A portrait isn't finished until it's framed. that's why I do very creative, custom framing right here in our studio, and I offer a lifetime guarantee on any portrait that I frame.
